Mhm, a factory crapped out on me Saturday. These aren't too bad. I like Alpines a lot. I'd say these are there lower side of mid-range speakers.. $100 for the pair so I'm not complaining about it. Hell of a lot better than the factory ones were anyway.

I went a little crazy recently and purchased a few new items to keep me from going insane...

The big item, the TV showed today and damn.... it's nice as hell!!!

Here is the list of items...

Xbox 360 250GB Console with Kinect

Samsung PN51D7000 51-Inch 1080p 600Hz 3D Plasma HDTV (Black)

Samsung SSG-3100GB 3D Active Glasses - Black (Only Compatible with 2011 3D TVs)
.

A couple of my friends and my father set the TV up for me and damn is that thing huge, I'm used to a 37" screen and this is a 51, so yeah, major upgrade here.

I also had to buy a new 360 because my other one got fried to hell as a result of a recent thunder storm. The houses power supply got nailed by lighting and it fried the lighting arestors on the house and fried everything that was on, on the network. So yeah, my XBOX, the router, and all just got nailed to hell and back. Luckily no fires...

But once I'm better and able to walk I think I will be adding some lighting rods to the top of the house and also I was able to get FPL to put one on their pole to help with this problem and direct the strikes away from the lines and into the ground where it doesn't matter what happens....

But anyway back to the TV, yeah it's cool as hell. I'm also ordering a 3D bluray player to go with the TV so I can utilize the 3D aspect of it. I figure I'm going to be laid up for the next 4-5 weeks and even after that I'm going to be very limited in my walking abilities due to the surgery that I just had. So yeah, I needed something to keep me from going insane at the house...

I probably should have bought a new computer, or at least a mobo, processor and ram... but that will come later when it's truly needed.

Also now that I'm able to sit up for more than just a few minutes at a time I'm able to get working on my backlog of photos that I need to edit, lol. wow, I have a lot to do. I have 3 sets to finish for one client and then I have at least 4-5 other smaller sets for some other people that I need to work on as well after the first 3 are done.

So needless to say, I can't say that I'm going to be bored at the house for a while. Though these damn storms have been screwing me over lately. I had to make a mad a dash to the other side of the house earlier today (well, hobble is more like it) to unplug the new router I put in so it didn't get fried this time around with the storm that came through this afternoon. I think until this rainy season is over I will be unplugging the router every time I'm leaving the house and making sure that during any storms it's unplugged.

This isn't the first time I've had this issue... got hit pretty hard a couple years ago. So needless to say I'm taking steps to prevent it from ever happening again...

This is why there is merit to the idea of turning off electrical devices when there are lighting storms coming through the area... Lighting loves to fry low voltage wires....
