Default 1JZGTE vs 2JZGTE

which one is better?

obviously the 2jz has more aftermarket but is the 1jz any good? I'm not really looking for power upwards of 800hp like the 2jz can handle but i wanna know whats the difference between the 1j and 2j besides the obvious .5 displacement.

no bs plz, I'm looking for serious answers. thank you.

1j was actually made after the 1ggte it was supposed to be a update version of it

the only real difference was the for different applications for each motor

but u cant go rong wit a 2jz wit a 1jz head

different rotating assembly, the blocks are the same. but yes you can. differences are minor like blocked off oil lines, an I think oil squirters

alright cool. thx man.

i think i'm just gonna go 1jz instead cuz it seems a lot more practical. i mean yea the 2jz is a motor god made but i dont think i need so much out of what i wanna build.

ur right, crankcase oil galleys are the only diffeence, used to cool down the motor and crank, the n/a block doesnt have the galleys. its a major difference..
