Default looking at new wheels for the WRX

Okay, so I have been looking at ordering a set of new wheels for my WRX and I'm looking to go wider.

I'm looking at a set that is 17x8 vs the stock 17x7

But that means I need to order some wider tires along with that... looking at the numbers my stockers are 225-45-17 and running them means I need a sidewall close to 101mm

I found that 255-40-17 would leave me with 102mm even for the sidewall which is only a tiny amount of difference but it would leave me with a slightly better speedometer readout seeing as there is an error margin as it is, basically it would line things up just right or damn near it.

But seeing as a 225-255 would leave me with a little more than an extra inch in width (1.181) I will have just a slight bit more of a bulge on either side of the wheel.

Does anyone think that will leave with rubbing issues. I don't know how wide I can go on these without running into some kind of issue.

The wheels I'm looking at are 17X8 5-100 46GM

I wouldn't mind going 7.5 wide but I'm just not liking any of the wheels that I've looked at for them.

I'm not sure about the 08-10 but I'm aware on my '11 I can go up to x9.5 wide with no issues at all not even having to roll. I'm sure with an 8 inch wheel you won't have any issues.

I might order these wheels here:

Enkei EDR9 but I'm not sure if I want the silver or the black to go with my car.

That last rim by sparco doesn't look bad at all. I would take those over the others, they just look like a better fit for your car.

omorales, I'm surprised you haven't chimed in on the second set of wheels that I put up. They are much better but still not as good resources for ordering rims and tires is limited online anymore. At least it seems to be, I used to be able to go to one site and order whatever I wanted now you have to end up ordering from 3-4 different sites to get the right stuff.
