Videogames are not what they use to be. Yeah there are a lot of top of the line videogames coming out or have came out. IE: Half-life ep 2, but I just don't have the OMFGMEGAMAN3 is coming out anymore. I remember when super mario bros 3 came out or Contra is was like you were either in or not. Know its just like what ever.

If you were to correct for awesome-ness with consideration on years.

I do think NES has always produced the more entertaining line of products.

plus they don't make their systems so expensive that only those that are fairly well off can get them.

fixed. super metroid, megaman x, x2, x3, super mario rpg, donkey kong country 1, 2, 3, the legend of zelda a link to the past, etc. the snes had some of the best games of the cartridge era. it was my first system. now a day game developers are focusing more on graphics and game layout. the gameplay importance is still there but its just different. theres nothing like the simplicity of the d pad and 6 buttons to get around a game.

NES kept a seal of approval. Which ment if it wasn't any good it wasn't gonna make it to the store floor. River city ransom was my favorite game EVER! only a selected few will know about that game.

Meh age proves that. You were born in a SNES era I was born in a NES era.

I don't think you realize how NES games were being traded. It was like a coke ring back in the days.

I had a teacher that if she even saw a NES you were own.

Games do suck, nowadays. Hence, I do not own a new console. New games are all about violence, stealing cars, street racing (flamesuit on - haha)...shit that kids shouldn't be doing, and inpsires them to manifest their games in reality.

I miss the old PC games, like playing Command & Conquer online, the Roger Wilco/Space Quest series - funny fucking game, yet it kept your eyes open for clues 'n shit, and the Leisure Suit Larry series, walking around, trying to score with babes using cheesy text commands - lmao those were the days.

Now I wanna run to Electronics Boutique, and check out their Classic PC Games section.

I agree, that's kind of why I like the Wii console a lot. Most of their games are still wholesome games that make you think more than just react or do something.

Take Metroid prime: Corruption
That's an addicting game and you have to solve puzzles to continue and if you want to get all the upgrades you have to look for hidden passages and figure out how to open everything or get past obstacles. It really makes you think a lot more than any game I've played on 360. I like the 360 for the graphics and all but where are the games that really make you use problem solving skills to get through the levels, there aren't that many.

Also the Wii has a strong hold on teaching kids to play and exercise at the same time. The newest Wii sports games can be quite tiring and make you break a sweat just to beat it faster than your friend just did. The new motion control add on is pretty sensitive and you can't cheat like you used to be able to.

I think 360 will take off next year once they finally release the new 3D motion tracking system. They should be able to catch up with the Wii type market. They just need to start making games that require more brain power.

PC Games are where it's at, forever, with Strategy and mild RPG gaming. Nothing crazy like WoW, but I used to play the Ultima series, 6 through 10. Ultima 10 was entirely online based - so much fucking fun. The best shoot 'em up on the PC was a tie between the first Unreal .Tournament, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein Multiplayer. LOL the realism of RTCW, reminds me so much of Saving Private Ryan, when there's body parts and blood flying all over the place, during an explosion.

Thanks to keyboard commands, the possibilities are endless. The only problem is, the shit gets expensive, upgrading your " rig" all the fucking time. It's worse than maintaining a German car.

no lies here, I spent 2 grand on my last build and I already need to get a new MOBO and chip to match. The new ones are faster and use less power. WTF is up with that shit!!!!!
