a friend of mine wants to put his single cam on forced induction but cant decide what to do he likes the idea of a supercharger but when it comes to bang for your buck nitrous wins by a landslide. Anyway i just wanted to know you guys thoughts on the subject.

P.s.- dont say nitrous is for cheaters if you want a good clean race it should be all motor v. all motor.

supercharger?! or boost!?
if its BOOST/TURBO i say go for the turbo!
if not.. then go with Nitrous! and make sure to tune!

forced induction is played out and its too expensive and plus its a bitch to maintain...yes it is always going to be there but once you boost your going to get many problems
and boost is a gas sucker but that just my opinion but hey thats just me

that's not very true.

boost might be hard to maintain if you use a large turbo on high boost 24/7.

but low boost would be fine for a daily.

look at how many 1g DSMs are running around still strong.

i could prolly name a bunch of older cars that have forced induction from the factory, and still run strong.

I'll name another. my boy had an older 4 banger chrysler, I want to say it was a lebaron or something like that. it had a turbo and this held on strong. It was a grandma car and had a small turbo on it.

I personally prefer turbo for the smaller cars, as long as you are modest in the tune it's all good and for it being a gas guzzler, that's a bunch BS. if you build right and do a proper tune on daily driving you can get just as good if not better milage. a simple dual tune can easily set yourself up for improved gas milage for daily use. when you want to race just shut down, reflash and start back up. you are good to go.

As for running on the bottle why bother just put a water injection or alcohol injection on a light turbo setup and you'll get just as good of an improvement there and it's easier to have water/alcohol on hand than it is to have the NO2. If you work crazy hours like I do you'd hardly ever have time to fill the bottle.

i like the idea of SOHC non vtec but with a mid lift long duration cam maybe that would be nice on boost as well ...
