I'm debating.

Should I go to a dealer to get the weather stripping...?

OR.

Should I just get it from a junkyard?

Pros and cons: With the junkyard it'll be much cheaper..BUT, it'll be old and more than likely weather rotted by now. The dealer, I'll have to pay out the ass for all of it and they'll more than likely wish to install it, making it cost even more. But it'll be brand new.

Also, for the other del sol owners here, has anyone ever had a problem with squeaking? The noises of my car are starting to tweak me out and I can't seem to find a way to fix them.

Any help is appreciated.

dealer... any old used one is going to be at least so many years old its not even worth it. a new one should last you as long is the one you want to replace did.

as far as squeeks go... single them out one by one and try to fix them however you can... or drive all they way down here and bring it to me.

I'll do the latter. I don't feel like messing with it anymore. Jesus. I'll be down there on Dec. 1st. You up for the challenge?

Okay, I should probably let you guys know how ridiculous my luck is with this Del Sol.

It's horrible. The car has had 17 owners, including myself. [CarFax'd it.] It's been totalled, TWICE. Among other things.... it has every right to be an asshole, no doubt.

I think I'm going to call the honda dealer right now and ask how much it'd be. Junkyards here don't have many Sols anyway. Although, I have three b18's sitting in my garage now that I got the other day from one junkyard. All out of teggy's. If anyone wants a b18, let me know.

I've never totalled the car, but from what I've gathered, it's been crushed like a can at some point. I love my car, no matter how demented it is. I took the motor out of my friends Del Sol last night. He threw a rod bearing and his oil pump went out. The car is dying, slowly. It's sad.

I'm not getting rid of my car. I love the car way too much to get rid of it. It has sentimental value. It's not the fact that it's some SUPER DUPER car. I don't know. It's the memories in that car I guess. -shrug- I'll deal with it. The noise I can handle. It's the leaking. I go through a car wash and it's like my own personal WATERFALL INSIDE of my car. It's as if I don't even have the windows rolled up. Quirks and all, I love the damn thing.

P.S. By the way, fuck a Nissan. :)

Go to the dealer, I have two friends that have del-sols one with a glassroof the other with the OEM metal one. They both had the same leaking problem and went to the dealer to get new weather striping and it solved it.

BTW: this is a very common problem on targa top cars.

I'm planning on going to the dealer, even though it's going to cost me my arm and leg.

or hold off till you come down and have your homeboy do it for you for a fraction of the cost the dealer would hityou with
